Kalimbas are sound reed instruments that have their origins in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B15 is carefully handcrafted from solid American cherry (black cherry) in Walsrode. The surfaces are treated and polished with vegetable oils and waxes. The 15 reeds are precisely tuned to the G major scale, allowing a variety of songs to be played. The Kalimba B15 is just as well suited for improvisation and intuitive playing as well as for chordal accompaniment of melodies.
